National Safe Boating week

May 20-26, 2023

National Safe Boating Week will be held from May 20-26, 2023, reminding all boaters to brush up on boating safety skills and prepare for the boating season. This observance week is the annual kick-off of the Safe Boating Campaign, a global awareness effort that encourages boaters to make the most of their boating adventure by being responsible.

Get a Free Vessel Safety Check

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has certified vessel examiners who will perform a free Vessel Safety Check (“VSC”) at your boat. There is no charge, and there are no consequences if you don’t pass. Our goal is simply to help make boating as safe as possible for you, your family and your friends, through education.

Take a Boating Safety Course

Don't hit the water without your card

  • One day, eight-hour boating certificate class that offers in-depth boating information.
  • At the end of the class you take an exam, don’t worry, if have been paying attention in class you should easy be able pass the exam. 
  • Before you leave the class you will receive your Coast Guard Auxiliary Certificate and your temporary card, you will receive the permanent card in the mail within 2-3 weeks
